How important is the campaign world in a P&P system?

Given that DnD 3.x is a thing of the past, it seems plain limiting to dedicate a site (as I did) purely to its system reference documents. What’s more, given that my personal roleplaying interests have changed as well over time, I’ve modified this site and its goal. As of now, this site is dedicated to provide a repository for any and every free game system, and is dedicated to all resources belonging to such game systems. The site will provide downloadable material, but not only that. There’ll also be further online references, links to other people’s material, and to round it off a small forum dedicated to questions and discussions about all these game systems. Books are a thing of the past aren't they? Nowadays, the internet is the primary resource for information to stimulate our brain and movies/music stimulate our soul. I'm inclined to support this claim with one exception, well two actually. Roleplaying books and graphic novels. What's better than to get home and unwrap this new shiny book you just bought and enjoy these objects of beauty. Here we go, eight roleplaying books that I think are the top of the crop. (read)
